Mould and the Finger Test

 There is one thing above all else that allows Mould to grow in your house and that is MOISTURE. But how do you know if the moisture is from a wet wall or surface moisture eg condensation . Well you can do the finger test.  If the mould smudges on the surface when you rub it with you finger then  it is surface mould caused by condensation . If it doesn't rub off but is fixed in the wall then it is more likely to be a damp wall and the mould is growing from within.

Either way treatments such as sprays or paints are only  a temporary solution because UNLESS YOU FIND THE SOURCE OF THE MOISTURE THE MOULD WILL GROW AGAIN AND STEADILY GET WORSE. That applies to condensation as well as damp walls.
